The End is Near!!!

Well at least the end of the golf season is near. It's hard to believe that October is just around the corner and the golf season is coming to a close. The last day for full service in the restaurant will be October 6th. There will be sandwiches and beverages available on the 7th and 8th.

Carts and clubs must be out of the curling rink by the 7th as they are cleaning the rink on the 8th. We will be putting the carts that are being stored in the outside compound on the 8th as well. For those of you that only have lockers for the summer, please have them cleaned out by the 15th.

Overhead pictures

Ryan Sayer was up in a plane a few weeks ago and took some nice pictures of the golf course. Here are a couple of them showing both the front and back nines. You can sure see how nice the fairways look from above with the beautiful cross cutting.

Senior Men's Interclub team finishes 4th

(above from left, Dan Allen, Bill North and Glen Sinclair)

Our Senior Men's Interclub team recently finished 4th in the rural division of the provincial championships at Portage. The team consisted of Bill North, Glen Sinclair, Lionel Walz, and Dan Allen. They are pictured above in a friendly pose before the game.

Things turned nasty later on the first tee when they couldn't decide who was going to tee off first. As you can see below, Dan and Glen are trying to prevent Bill from hitting the first tee shot.

Thankfully, Lionel Walz provided a voice of reason and all the confusion was sorted out. The boys were able to finish their round and post their 4th place finish.

Sonya Giesbrecht wins Ladies Last Chance

Sonya Giesbrecht made a triumphant return to Carman Golf Club by winning the Ladies Last chance by 2 strokes over Morden clubmate Karen Foster. Sonya shot a fine 84 in her victory. Other flight winners were Carole Withers, Noella Lafond and Louise Johnston.

We had 80 players who came out on a crisp autumn day to enjoy the golf course and the hospitality.
